Henstone Gin – Highly Commended!!

Henstone Distillery has just been Highly Commended in the Craft Distilling Expo Best Classic Gin 2018 Awards. The Oswestry gin has only been in production since February and this competition was the first that the distillery had entered, so the team at Henstone are extremely proud of their achievement.

Alison Parr, of Henstone Distillery, said “We have had wonderful feedback and support since we launched the gin, but to win our first award already is a real testament to the quality of our spirit!”

The Craft Distilling Expo Gin of the Year Competition entries came from around the world and were all launched in the past year. The judging panel consisted of distillers, professional gin judges, drinks writers, and gin connoisseurs.

All the gins were tasted blind and were then judged in a second round with tonic water to determine the winner in each category.

The award comes on the back of the distillery successfully launching a couple of new gins – Navy Gin and Rosè Gin, an oak aged gin, which are both proving just as popular as the Classic gin.
