Description
Henstone Whisky – Ex-Bourbon Cask Aged Release 7
Henstone Whisky – Ex-Bourbon Cask Aged Release 7 (hand written label is batch 16) is the latest edition. This is an ex-bourbon cask aged whisky and is our seventh bourbon release (for full details see our RELEASE PAGE). This particular batch is single cask (ex Jim Beam) and is limited to TBC bottles.
This single malt whisky, which is beautifully smooth, is mashed, distilled, aged and bottled by us here at Henstone Distillery. Like all of our products this has not been chill filtered or coloured.
Profile (based on release 1 and kindly provided by Richard Foster of Exploring English Whisky):
On the nose: Ripe red apples and cream soda. Fruit and nut mix or dairy milk fruit and nut bar!
Palate: Its deceptively smooth! Most of the action is mid tongue, lovely warmth and the nuttiness comes through over the fruit for me, quite intriguing actually. Long finish too which is great.
Summary: Its young on the nose and you can’t deny that, but it’s got layers of flavour and the finish seriously belies its age. A really impressive dram!!
The bottling ABV is 43.8%.

An interesting point about our whisky is that we are one of a small number of distilleries south of the Scottish border making our own wash (the beer that is distilled to produce whisky) on site. We have a philosophy of using only the finest malted barley to produce a distinctive and characteristic new-make spirit.
